Default Speed Challenge 102mph TC4

This is my TC4. I have always loved toys and speed, weather it's my 8second strip/street car or tearing up and down the dirt road with my Revo or conquering piles of rocks in my yard with my crawler. I have to be doing something. I love building things. Without further delay here is my attempt at an ISC record breaking RC car.

Current setup is:
Factory Team TC4
BMI Racing CF Chassis
Mamba 7700Kv
Mamba Monster ESC
35t pinion/72t spur
BSR wheels/tires
4s1p 3600mah 20c
Futaba 3PK Transmitter
Futaba R203HF Receiver
Futaba S9451 Digital Highspeed metal gear servo
Futaba GY401 Gyro

Current highest speed 102mph on Bushnell Speedster2.
CrispySqrl 102mph (0 min 24 sec)

TC4 94.6mph takeoff (0 min 16 sec)

Nothing to exciting but my body came today. Snaped a pic. It will be more exciting after the car comes and I can start making it look like something.

Will a 4 cell lipo be safe on the 7700? I have nothing but the upmost faith and respect for castle hardware, but spinning at over 100,000 rpm is.. not something usually seen in hobby grade stuff, lol.

a few guys ive seen have gone 5s on the 7700....i think its really hit or miss...all depends on how much time you spend in the "danger zone" (inside joke between Crispy and I) .......haha.....but really i think it will survive a few good pulls into 6 digit rpms....

Define safe? To me as long as me and everyone else near is not hurt it is safe. Ahh even if I get hurt just a little that is all part of the game of extremes. Now if we are talking about motor failure that is all part of the game too.

I will never forget that when I started modifying my car a 98' Trans Am that everyone told me to stay inside certain limits cause it worked. Well I ended up with a car in the mid 11's which was ok but I was never satisfied since I wanted to go more extreme from the start. Well now 4 years later I did it my way and now have an 8second car.

The moral of the story is do it your own way and you will get your own outcome.

I was referring to motor failure, yeah =) Not that I'm in any way trying to dissuade you from trying...Can't wait to see some videos!

Ever since I went from low rpm outrunners on RC planes to the higher rpm inrunners we use in cars, I've had this fear that I'll make the rotor spin too fast one day and the magnet will just disconnect at such high speed as to eviscerate my car, lol. Probably won't ever happen =)

First day out wasn't too bad. Still haven't got my 35t pinion yet so on a kinda small 28t one. Still went 82.9mph after some quick vert stab addons that BoostCrzy made up out of my hobby toolbox.

TC4 82.9mph (0 min 19 sec)

Got my last 2 BSR tires today.

Also made up a set of vertical stabilizers out of aluminum. Not the lightest material for the job but for me it a familiar material to work with. Basically just 2 fins cut out of 3/32" aluminum and a horizontal brace welded to the verts made of 1/2"x1/2" square stock.

Same body for sure. The dodge charger has a very flat cockpit, though it does have a very flat nose :/ oh well. He definitely had some speed out of that thing. Hope mine gets up there eventually.

I should have some new numbers tonight if the weather is ok. The changes from last time out will be 35t pinion over the 28t, real vert stabs, BSR tires on 4 corners over just 2, and last but not least a 4s1p lipo over 3s1p so I am expecting some descent improvements.
